THE FALL OF THE REPUBLIC
The Roman Republic lasted 400 years, until a man named Julius Caesar took over. He conquered Roman Gaul and governed it for nine years. He then started a civil war in Rome and won. He took total control of the government and made himself a dictator for life. During his time as a dictator, he was stabbed to death in the Senate on March 15, 44 B.C.E.
SOCIAL UNREST
In the early Roman Republic, the rich men or patricans ruled. The rest of the majority of Rome, were plebians. They had no say in the government. Then, the plebians fought with the patricans. In the end, the the plebians won and gained equality.
THE RISE OF THE ROMAN REPUBLIC
The rise of the Roman Republic was very great. It lasted for 400 years. In the republic the senators debated and made laws. The senators were elected by the citizens. The republic was run by three main branches of government: the senate, the assembly, and the two councils. This was the great Roman Republic.
ROMAN MYTHOLOGY
In the beginning of Rome, the Romans started to believe something. They believed in many different gods and goddesses. In each god or goddess was a thing he or she was good at. For example, Mars was the god of war. This collection of all their gods was called the Pantheon. This was Roman Mythology.
ROMAN CONSTITUTION
The republic was governed by a different constitution. This constitution was focused on the principles of a separation of powers. It also focused on checks and balances. It was an unwritten set of guidelines. This was the great Roman Constitution.
